(The Sabbath was instituted at Creation and was made sacred by God)
REMEMBER the Sabbath day, to KEEP IT holy. Exodus 20:8-11
(The 4th Commandment points to God's created day, making it impossible to change)
Six days you shall gather it (manna); but on the Seventh Day which is the Sabbath, in it there shall be none.
Ex 16:25-28 (The Sabbath was kept by God's people before the law was given on Mt.Sinai, showing it pre-existed before the law)
And the Lord delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of GOD... Deuteronomy 9:10
My covenant will I not break, not alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Psalm 89:34
(God will not alter or change His law)
For as the new heavens and the new earth I will make... and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, says the Lord. Isaiah 66:22-23
(The Sabbath will be kept in the new earth, it will stand forever!)
Think not that I am come to destroy the law... Matthew 5:17-19
(Jesus death on the cross did not do away with the law of the 10 Commandments)
And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and RESTED THE SABBATH DAY

(These ordinances were the Mosaic law that pointed to Christ. They were no longer necessary once Christ fulfilled them at the cross)
For WHOSOEVER shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. James 2:10
(We cannot choose to break ANY of God's 10 Commandments and be without guilt)
BLESSED are they that DO HIS COMMANDMENTS, that they may have right to the tree of life.Rev 22:14
(Those who love God will, BY HIS GRACE, keep His Commandments and have eternal life)
